Fantasy Football 2025: These Redraft Studs Are Dynasty Landmines

During each fantasy football draft season, some players are higher on Redraft League boards than Dynasty pecking orders. And vice versa, of course.
Some players resemble league-winners in Redraft leagues, but they’ll doom your Dynasty squad. Here are the 2025 fantasy football studs you should avoid in Dynasty leagues.
Fantasy drafts will really heat up in about eight weeks, and these are players to select in Redraft but not necessarily Dynasty.
The following players are ranked ascendingly: No. 1 = player with the most variance Redraft vs. Dynasty, using Fantasy’s Pro’s Consensus Big Board.
Quarterbacks were excluded to avoid SuperFlex versus Non-SuperFlex confusion (all listed ADPs account for SuperFlex rankings).
5. Javonte Williams (RB)
Team: Dallas Cowboys
Redraft ADP: 119
Dynasty ADP: 160
Variance: 41
Williams will get a fresh start in Dallas, only required to fend off Jaydon Blue, a Texas rookie, who could come knocking for Williams’ would-be RB1 job.

The Denver Broncos soured on Williams, but that doesn’t mean his career is utterly cooked. He could be reborn in Dallas, on course to effectuate his fantasy outlook from four years ago, when everyone wanted a little piece of Williams.
But — dynasty managers are skittish about him for the long haul, evidenced by the Redraft v. Dynasty discrepancy. You can draft Williams in Round 12 or 13 of Redraft leagues while waiting until Round 16 or 17 in Dynasty.
Williams said last month at Cowboys OTAs, “I feel completely like myself. I probably can get more flexible and things like that, but as far as healing up, that I feel like is done. It’s a lot that goes into it that people don’t really understand. Just to be back out here and have another opportunity and chance to show myself, I can’t ask for nothing else.”
“They didn’t really tell me too much about that stuff, all I know is just come in here and work every day, and everything else is going to take care of itself. I’m not really big on the expectations and goals and stuff like that, I just go out and play well.”
4. Tyler Allgeier (RB)
Team: Atlanta Falcons
Redraft ADP: 150
Dynasty ADP: 192
Variance: 42
You can trust Allgeier to steal Bijan Robinson’s redzone touches in 2025, but not for the long haul. Dynasty fantasy evidently states that Allgeier will soon fade from relevance, as Robinson’s sky-high ascension continues.

It’s worth noting that Allgeier will likely hit free agency in nine months.
Redraft Fantasy Is A Different Beast Than Dynasty
These are the Top 3 variances between players drafted in Redraft and Dynasty, leaning toward men you should obtain for Redraft but not Dynasty.
3. James Conner (RB)
Team: Arizona Cardinals
Redraft ADP: 72
Dynasty ADP: 114
Variance: 44
James Conner is old. That’s his problem.
He turned 30 this offseason, and the fantasy community won’t give up on Trey Benson, even if the Cardinals extended Conner’s contract last season. Conner logged 1,094 rushing yards and 8 rushing touchdowns in 2024, so even a small drop-off would still make him rosterable.
Yet, not in Dynasty, at least comparatively.
2. Aaron Jones (RB)
Team: Minnesota Vikings
Redraft ADP: 83
Dynasty ADP: 127
Variance: 44
The Vikings traded for Jordan Mason on a random Saturday night in March, and he’ll inevitably play into the equation at running back. As injury-prone as Jones’ past suggests, the man played all 17 games last season.

So, he may be due for an injury or two, paving the way for Mason’s workload in 2025, not unlike his breakout in San Francisco last year.
Still, the Vikings used Jones as a bellcow in 2024, and for Redraft standards, he’s a 9th-Round pick. Just wait until later in Dynasty.
1. Adam Thielen (WR)
Team: Carolina Panthers
Redraft ADP: 151
Dynasty ADP: 198
Variance: 47
Ol’ Reliable.
Thielen will turn 35 before the start of the regular season, but a quick scan of the Panthers’ depth chart reveals a WR2 post — at worst. Assigning the WR2 title assumes that Tetairoa McMillan will be ready as the WR1 right away, quite the leap.

It is emphatically not fashionable to tie your fantasy hopes to a 35-year-old wide receiver who’s no stranger to injuries. But compared to Dynasty Value, Thielen should be a late-round get in Redraft leagues.
Without an injury last year, he would’ve posted 1,045 yards and 9 touchdowns, according to his per-game totals.
